Ross Beams into Summer 2026

“Disclosure Day”and All Things Disclosure

Hello Friends, Family & Associates,
I really enjoyed Steven Spielberg’s “Disclosure Day.” It seems like many Spielberg fans, including myself, were seeking another ‘feel good’ classic like “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” or “E.T.” It wasn’t that and really wasn’t meant to be that. It’s a dramatic thriller about seeking the truth.
With all the congressional meetings taking place and whistleblowers coming forward in recent years, Spielberg felt obligated to write something in the vein of disclosure and call up his old musical extraordinary friend, John Williams. THANK GOD!
I saw “Disclosure Day” with a great Meetup group called UFO-LA. It’s a bunch of UFO enthusiasts. They meet monthly at Lawless Brewing Company in NoHo to connect and share stories. I’ve heard some incredible stories. The group also does stargazing occasionally. I hope to attend one soon.
I’ve submerged myself into the UFO community as the subject matter has found its way into my storytelling.
And it’s because of this group that I found out about the following event below as it was shared on our WhatsApp group chat.
Power To the Paper: Jailbreaking Disclosure

I signed up the same afternoon on Sat. June 27th for this UFO Art Show & Lecture / panels. The official title presented by Greg Bishop and Creepy Kingdom: Power To the Paper: Jailbreaking Disclosure Through Art.
The event was fantastic! Great panels and discussions. The artwork as you can see is amazing! Most of the artists are experiencers. 👽🛸

Who’s that in the picture with me? Have you seen the movie “Communion” starring Christopher Walken? It’s based on the book written by Whitley Strieber about his real life alien encounter.

WOW! What an event! 👽🛸
Artists:
Susan Demeter, Barbara Fisher, Erica Lukes, David Metcalfe, Lucinda Morel, Steve Neil, James Pike, Sam Shearon, Peter Stichbury, Renee Reeser Zelnick
There was a fascinating panel with filmmakers Dean Alioto (“The McPherson Tape”, Darren Lynn Bousman (“Saw 2”), Ryan Grulich (“The Lady in the Lake” – Producer), and Greg Bishop. Greg is one of the subjects in a documentary by Dean Alioto called “The Experiencers: Full Disclosure” that was just released. You can rent it on Apple TV.

The constant theme of the discussions pointed to disclosure coming from experiencers and witnesses themselves and not waiting for the government to disclose. Someone mentioned that it’s great that “Disclosure Day” involved two experiences. But that’s not enough.
The phenomenon is global. There are experiencers in Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, China. All over.
People need to share their stories however they can whether it’s through art. movies, music, paintings, etc.
Networking & Rewriting

This year I joined a writers’ group, Hollywood Speakeasy, after attending the Allegory Screenwriters’ Conference in March 2026. The organization is getting writers together to hold each other accountable and help each other learn, grow and make connections. It’s a great group and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes and what opportunities will come.
Our group already got together with another writers’ group, the Independent Writers Caucus, to increase networking. The IWC is co-hosted by James Moorer, aka Uncle James. James was on one the panelists at the Allegory event.
James likes to do movie/TV trivia and giveaway merch. I won an Independent Writers Caucus teeshirt! James mentioned two actors; Michelle Pfeiffer and as soon as he mentioned Jack Nicholson, I raised my hand. He looked at me shaking his head because he constantly tells people to wait until you hear the whole question. But I knew the answer. “Wolf.” (Insert Howling)
I continue to rework my screenplays. “Jordan and the Sphere” is a sci-fi story about an orphan’s family inheriting a metallic sphere with supernatural features.
Other sci-fi oriented scripts I’m working on include “Modified,” “The Battle of Los Angeles – 1942” and “Rivals.”
“Rivals” is one I’m doing a major overhaul draft.
LOGLINE:
When two young paranormal investigators go missing at a mysterious mansion, a divorced couple is brought back together to uncover the mansion’s secrets that will miraculously reunite them with their abducted son and save the world from an alien invasion.
Dreaded Day Jobs
So far, 2026 has been much like last year in the sense of the ‘day’ work I’ve been doing. It’s mostly temporary work.
The paid script reading has dried up a bit.
I’m looking at what else I can do to create an income. Side jobs, etc.
Not For This World

| I’m a screenwriter and write science fiction in addition to other genres, horror, comedy and drama. I’m also a UFO enthusiast. (Yes, I’ve seen a UFO.) I pay close attention to all the events about UFOs. I shake my head at some misleading and/or misinformation that gets leaked to the public. Who do you trust, right? Trust no one! That’s what Mulder from “X-Files” would say. The name of my Etsy store has some personal relevance. Yes, I now have an Etsy online business. Teeshirts, mugs, etc. My Grandma Tillie used to say, “I’m not for this world.” Well, Tillie, these days many of us are with you in being ‘Not For This World.’ So, I like poking fun at our world that’s getting stranger by the day. Join me in having a good laugh with the products from my store. Now, you’re all a part of my ‘soft’ launch. I started the store on Thursday, June 11, 2026. The store and online business is very much a Work-In-Progress. I still have tons to learn. No one is obligated to purchase anything. I would love some support in the way of feedback, clicks, views, etc. I need my store to make progress in the Etsy algorhythm. All the ideas are mine. Hopefully, they’re somewhat funny as the idea is to poke fun at the phenomenon and the disclosure movement (drip, drip, drip) as it seems like a farce at times. Below is a link. Thank you for all your support! Have a fun, productive summer! |
PS The above is taken from my newsletter. After sending the newsletter out this morning, I learned that today is World UFO Day. Apparently, today is the anniversary of the Roswell, New Mexico crash in 1947 (July 2).
I also made my first Etsy sale on this day, Thursday, July2, 2026. YAY!
Framing A Souvenior

10 Months After Landing in Vegas
I bought this print while in Insadong, South Korea, a section of Seoul. The print remained in a poster tube for 10 months before I finally brought it in to be framed. Since I have no place to now put it as I still live with family as of May 2011, it’s covered again and put away like an old relic like the ark in “Raiders of the Lost Ark.”
Notice the the two men in the distance (top left) gazing at the women bathing.
Museums, Insadong and Chinese Food. What a day!

Ross at War Memorial Museum in Korea
On Sunday, June 27th, Jon and I headed out for a full day of museums and a stop in Insadong. It was raining so I decided not to take my big Nikon along. Jon had his pocket-sized digital camera. Of course, that meant that the rain subsided very early in the day. Just because I didn’t bring my camera, the weather turned out fine.

WAR MUSEUM of KOREA
Anyway, we went to the War Memorial of Korea museum first. It was awesome! We spent about half an hour outside just checking out all the planes, military vehicles and rockets from the various wars.

Jon by Loud Propaganda Speaker (War Museum in Korea)
Jon had to pose in front of the giant loud speaker that was used early on in the North-South Korea conflict. It has been said that the loud speakers are still used from time to time to force propaganda into the opposition.
The museum has 3 floors of simply amazing exhibits on Korean war history. I learned that during the Korean War, a large amount of captured North Koreans did not want to return to the North and wanted to stay in the South. The North Koreans demanded their soldiers returned. War broke out again from the North, breaking down peace talks. Representatives for South Korea were not present when the Korea Armistice Agreement took place on July 27th, 1953.
Don’t go up! That’s what most of the vehicles say inside and outside the museum. On some vehicles it’s allowed.
Okay, now there is this on-going joke about South Korea. The people seem to love the English language. They just don’t know how to spell it. This is a photo taken from in front of one of the vehicles standing outside. Notice the spellings of ‘separated’ and ‘caliber.’ This is a major museum. Typo or not. It’s not some menu at a dive restaurant.

THE NATIONAL MUSEUM of KOREA
The National Museum of Korea was next. Jon and I had walked quite a long hall, about 30 minutes in between museums after thinking the subway would probably take just as long even though it was a few stops over. Tell that to my feet and my breath. We were dying when we reached the museum. Water was our first site to see and drink. AHH!

Notice my humble Buddha stance
Lots of great history at this museum too: art, ceramics, sculptures and much more. One of the earliest letter-typing sets was invented by Koreans. I really dug this as it was something I just read about in the book I’m reading, Korea’s Place in the Sun.

As if our legs couldn’t walk another step, we hoped back on the train and headed for Insadong, a very trendy area in Seoul where the streets are lined with shops, restaurants and tea houses. It’s a popular place for artists and people that appreciate art. In fact, I bought myself a print of women back in the traditional times bathing while a couple of men off far away look on, giggling. Maybe I’ll snap a photo of that some time later and post it here. For now, here’s a photo of some ‘slop’ on a table from a street vendor. Try it? Yo go first!

Slop on the Streets of Insadong
Jon and I grabbed some tea at a tea house. I had a cinnamon tea that was out of this world!

TOY MUSEUM in INSADONG
As if this wasn’t enough events in one day, I spotted something that caught my eye as I looked up from the street in Insadong. On the second floor of a building was a row of toys and one robot that looked very similar to a set of robots I had as a kid growing up in Minnesota. Yes, I lived in Minnesota for 5 years before and after living in NY. So, Jon and I go up to seek out what we thought was a toy store. It turned out to be a toy museum. What’s one more museum today? Three’s the charm, right?

We saw Gremlins, Star Wars figures and all kinds of figures from the early 70’s in TV and movies that took us back to our childhoods. Jon is a few years older than me. I found a bunch of robots that resembled the ones I remembered, but not any exact ones. I guess the fun was in the hope of discovering it. Also, I felt like a kid again.

Ross at Chinese Restaurant in Insadong
Before leaving Insadong, Jon and I decided to grab a bite in town before heading back to Ansan, a very long trip home. We headed towards our subway station and thought we’d find something on the way. We did! A very good Chinese restaurant. We had orange chicken. Jon had bot had orange chicken before. What do you want? He’s from New Zealand.

It was a full schedule this day, but very well worth it. Oh, getting back to robots, I had to pose with this one in Insadong.
